Elia Andrea Garza

Elia Andrea Rodriguez Garza, 42, of Kingsville, Texas, passed away February 25, 2025, in Corpus Christi, Texas. Our beloved Elia was born on September 11, 1982, near "The Sparkling City by the Sea." A creative artist, Elia incorporated beauty into the world as a fashionista, as a devoted mother, and as one who cared for people and pets throughout her life. "ELLE" "Lee" "Ah" is the phonetic spelling for "Elia." But how does one accurately depict the other aspects that are not as tangible? How does one characterize Elia's sweet disposition and magnetic personality that radiated through her smile? How does one fully describe her deep intuitive abilities to tap into others' feelings or interests? Elia started out as an outsider before she grew into her confidence. As a kid on the peripheral, she appreciated listening to music or attending live concerts for therapeutic techniques in processing both life's ups and downs: The Soundtrack of Life. Elia was fond of all genres of music. During this time, she grew into  her dormant life skills as a natural leader, because she became a mother. Elia spent many years frolicking about her home, decorating each room with seasonal decor during a specific holiday, packing her kids' lunches, then sending them off to school, etc. Joy can be described as infectious, limitless laughter or happiness, and that is what filled her home and the children's hearts. In addition, she was able to find commonalities in almost everyone she met. She had newfound patience, and compassion (sometimes even ambition) similar to a politician, intently listening and occasionally partaking in discussions. But don't be fooled, she almost always reached any agreements in her favor, always. She guided others towards positive paths, usually towards lifelong changes involving self-esteem, self-awareness through authenticity, joy for life, love for family kept alive by an undying, unwavering spirit from her sons, family because that is the love Elia gave to us! Elia inspired others to live authentically, always.

She is survived by her mother, Minerva Mares, her three sons: Jose Angel Garza IV, Levi Salvador Garza, Maximo Calavera Garza; Jose Angel Garza III (ex husband), all of San Antonio, Texas. Garza is also survived by her sisters, Iris Rene Rodriguez of San Antonio and Rebecca Rodriguez (Victor) Rivera of Corpus Christi, stepmother, Gilda Addison and stepsisters: Lisa Addison (Merchal) Jones of San Antonio, Christine Addison and Cheri Addison (Reginald) Meyers of Houston, Texas, and ex sister in law, LauraLee (John) Guzman of Kingsville. She is survived by nieces, nephews, and numerous cousins. Elia Andrea Rodriguez Garza is preceded in death by her father, Salvador Rodriguez Jr of Kingsville, her stepfather, Raul "Toby" Garcia of Driscoll, Texas, and her uncle, Dr. Robert Rodriguez of Ohio. Garza is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Salvador Chapa Sr and Rebecca Maldonado Rodriguez (Rodriguez Grocery), and her maternal grandparents, Julian Landin and Beatrice Medina Mares, all of Kingsville. A Celebration of Life service will be held at Kingsville Memorial Funeral Home Chapel on March 21, 2025 at 1 PM. Also on social media by the family.
