Elia C. Escobedo

Elia Cantu Escobedo, 86, died on Thursday, February 9, 2017.

Elia Escobedo was born on October 19, 1930 in Sn Diego Texas to Antonio and Jacinta Cantu. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; Sister Dora Cantu, brother Felix Cantu, and her husband, Amando L. Escobedo. Survivors include her sister Baudelia Torres and two brothers Ralph Cantu and Petronilo Cantu; her children Sylvia Escobedo, Norma Escobedo, Claudia Estrada, Amando Escobedo, Jr. (Belinda), Diana Garcia (Ruben), Abraham Escobedo (Cindy); 12 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Mrs. Escobedo lived a life of service to her Lord, family and church and community. She was a nurse in hospital and school settings. She was a partner in her husband’s Christian ministry in the surrounding communities. She also served as a Sunday school teacher for many years. She and her husband were foster parents to several children for many years. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm with a prayer service at 6:00pm at Limbaugh Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at 2:00 pm. At Primera Iglesia Bautista in Gregory with a gravesite service at Gregory Cemetery afterword.
