Edward James Garza

With heavy hearts and deep sorrow, the family of Edward “Eddie” Garza announces his passing on February 17th, 2026 at the age of 59. Born in Portland, Texas on October 23, 1966 to Aurora Garza and Joe B. Garza, Eddie was a deeply loving man whose life was marked by generosity, religion, spirituality and sincerity.

Eddie graduated from Gregory-Portland High School in 1984 and went on to own his own bonding company in Sinton, Tx for over 30 years. Known for his generosity, Eddie consistently went out of his way to help his clients in need, often forgetting debts and going the extra mile to make thoughtful accommodations for his clients.

As a proud Catholic, Eddie was a devoted member of the Knights of Columbus, the Sinton Masonic Lodge #1012, the Professional Bondsmen of Texas and would attend the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Sinton, Tx. He loved to listen to music, barbecue, play poker, and was a devoted and loyal sports fan. Eddie never missed a game of the Houston Astros, the San Antonio Spurs and especially the Dallas Cowboys. He was a hardcore Cowboys fan whose patience would wear very thin for many years. Eddie enjoyed a good argument especially when it came down to politics, being extremely vocal about his views. Eddie stayed true to his Catholic roots throughout his entire life, finding strength, guidance and comfort in his faith.

Eddie loved to barbecue for his friends and family, often spending as much time preparing the meat as he did cooking. In the one and only barbecue competition he entered, Eddie proudly took home 1st place. He would often volunteer his barbecue talents to many organizations and fundraisers using his gift to help support those in need.

He is preceded in death by his sisters Debbie Ann Augeros, Joann Zambrano and Gina Smith, as well as his father Joe B. Garza. He is survived by his mother Aurora Garza and his brother Randy Garza (Sylvia) of Odem.

Eddie was a beloved uncle with an extensive list of nieces and nephews, including Crystal Lacy, Tiffany Agueros-Cabazos (Daniel), Tiana Augeros, Tamera Agueros-Moreno (Aaron), Randy Garza Jr., Adrianna Garza-Villagomez (Alex), Cassandra Garza, Monica Garza, Isabella Smith, and Ariel Smith.

We would like to give a special thanks to Angela, his office manager and best friend. As Eddie's most devoted friend, Angela has stood by his side for over 20 years, helping him in all aspects of his life including business operations and everyday tasks. Her commitment to supporting Eddie reflects a relationship rooted in loyalty, compassion and genuine friendship.

His legacy will continue through the countless lives he touched and the memories that will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew him.
