Edward Louis Bush

Edward L. Bush, Sr., 79, of Portland, Texas passed away on Friday, September 28, 2018. Ed was born to Julius and Beatrice Bush on August 1, 1939 in Corpus Christi, Texas. He joined the U.S. Air Force and traveled the world. While stationed in England, he met the love of his life and married Ann Moseley. Ed retired from the Air Force, then went on to work in Houston for Gulf/Chevron Oil. After 20 years at Gulf, he retired and returned home to Portland. Ed loved to travel, spend time with his grandchildren, paint, read, play cards with his buddies and volunteer at the food pantry.

Ed is survived by his wife, Ann Bush; children: Ellen Bush Broussard, Edward Bush, Jr. and his wife, Tricia, Charles Bush and his wife Julie, and Teresa Bush. Brother Melvyn Bush, sisters Brenda Garcia and Kathy Morris, 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Julius and Beatrice.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Limbaugh Funeral Home in Portland, Texas.

Ed will be laid to rest on Wednesday, October 3 at 10:00 a.m. at Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas.

A service to celebrate Ed’s life will be held at First United Methodist Church in Portland, Texas at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Larry McRorey officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be sent to the Salvation Army Food Pantry Portland Unit.
