Drusilla Haroldyne Glover, affectionately known as Deany, passed away on September 7, 2026, in Portland, Texas. She was born on March 15, 1943, in San Antonio, Texas, and lived a life marked by devotion to her family, pride in her home, and lasting friendships in her community.
Drusilla graduated from Mary Carroll High School in 1961. On December 13, 1962, she married Clayton Glover in Corpus Christi, Texas, beginning a marriage that remained a treasured part of her life. In her younger years, she and Clayton were members of the Portland Seagulls Square Dance Club, sharing cherished times and fellowship with others.
Drusilla was a homemaker who took great pride in her home and yard, creating a place of warmth and care. Later, she brought that same dedication to her work as a personal banker at Portland State Bank and eventually Frost Bank. She was also a proud member of First United Methodist Church in Portland, Texas, and remained active through her membership in the Chatwork Club and the Late Bloomer Garden Club.
In later years, Drusilla enjoyed playing cards with her friends, cooking, and gardening. These simple pleasures reflected her generous spirit and her love of gathering with others, whether in friendship, faith, or family.
Drusilla is reunited with her beloved husband, Clayton Glover; parents, Harold and Anna Smith; and her brothers, Jerrold Smith and Jamie Smith. She is survived by her son, Daniel Glover, his wife, Julianne Glover, her granddaughter, Sawyer Glover, and her grandson, Clayton Glover. They, along with all who knew and loved her, will carry forward the memory of her steady presence, her caring nature, and the pride she took in the people and places she loved.
The Glover family extends their gratitude to Altus Hospice and to Drusilla's caregivers -- Ileana Lopez, Julia Saldana, Sophie Dimas, and especially Roxanne Riojas, who was with her for over a year -- for their dedicated care and compassion.
A Graveside Service will be held at 10 AM on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Clegg Cemetery, in George West, Texas. A Memorial Service to honor Drusilla's memory will begin at 11 AM on Thursday, October 1, 2026, at First United Methodist Church, in Portland, Texas.
Drusilla "Deany" Haroldyne Glover will be remembered with love and gratitude by her family, friends, and community.
