Douglas B. Gauntt

Douglas B. Gauntt passed away July 20, 2018. He was born November 28, 1936 in Poteet, Texas to William B. and Jewel Mae Gauntt. Mr. Gauntt worked as a superintendent in road construction. He was a very active member of the Mathis Masonic Lodge #1133 and the Tilden Lodge #544. He was a past master of both Lodges, a District Deputy and teacher, training other Masonic members.Mr. Gauntt was preceded in death by his parents and an infant daughter, Cynthia.He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Joyce Gauntt of Mathis; one daughter, Becky (Ron) Beto of Corpus Christi and one son, Douglas Wayne (Brenda) Gauntt of San Antonio, Texas. Five grandchildren; Justin Beto, Jarrett Beto, Corrinne Gauntt, Megan Gauntt Withoff and Dylan Gauntt.Also four great grandchildren; Natalie Beto, Ashlie Beto, Everrett Withoff and Scarlett Gauntt.Visitation with the family present will be  4 to 6 p.m. July 25, 2018. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. July 26, 2018 at Dobie Funeral Home Chapel with entombment following in Memory Gardens Mausoleum. Grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
