Dora Garcia Diaz

Dora Garcia Diaz, age 88, passed away peacefully on May 28, 2024. She was born on July 10, 1935 in Kingsville, Texas to Luciano Garcia and Felipa Reyes Garcia. She was a homemaker. Before her illness, Dora loved to read, sew, quilt, garden and cook. She was also an avid supporter to all her children, grandchildren, and surrounding family and friends.

Dora Garcia Diaz, a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend is survived by her daughters, Sylvia Diaz and Norma Diaz Minter Caballero of Kingsville, Tx. and son, Michael Diaz (Melisa) of Bentonville, Tx. She also leaves behind grandchildren, Niki Marie Diaz, Casey Michelle Diaz Greer, Austin Evan Minter, Justin Lewis Minter, Nyssa Paulene Minter, Erika Leigh Diaz Ramirez, Ryan Michael Diaz plus 10 Great Grandchildren. Also surviving are sister -in-laws, Consuelo Diaz Mata from Mesquite, Tx and Frances Diaz Garibaldo from Robstown, Tx.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Simon Diaz Sr., sons, Juan Simon Diaz and Simon Diaz Jr. and Great-grandson, Nathaniel "Stuey" Garcia. Also preceded by her parents, Luciano Garcia and Felipa Reyes Garcia, sisters, Rosa Garcia Trujillo, Mogonia Garcia Erebia, Irma Garcia Loera and her in-laws, Juan Diaz, and Maria Santos Martinez Diaz.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 am to 10:00 am, rosary from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, and funeral mass from 11:00 to 12:00 pm on Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at St, Joseph's the Worker Catholic Church located at 1430 Brookshire St, Kingsville, Tx 78363. Interment to follow at Chamberlain Cemetery.
