Dolores Marie Schroeder

Dolores M. Schroeder, 82, passed away Saturday, January 5, 2013, at a local hospital. Dolores was born in Houston, Texas on March 25, 1930. She graduated from El Campo High School in 1948 and went on to work for Texaco until she retired in 1971. She then pursued her real estate career and managed several properties until 2004. "Mammaw" loved being with her family out hunting for that big buck or when she was with her friends playing bridge. She was always thought of as a classy lady, great friend and will truly be missed. She had a sweet tooth and always made sure she got her dessert before her meal. She was hard working and maintained her independence even after losing her eyesight to glaucoma. Dolores was preceded in death by her husband of 25 years T.C. (Speck) Schroeder, mother Alma Lamkin, father Murra Lamkin, son-in-law Lester Dooms, brothers Donald and Kenneth Lamkin and her close companion Joel Manjarris. She is survived by her daughter Sandy Dooms, son Bob Slezinsky (Krista), grandchildren Jimmie (Christin) Dooms, Ryan Dooms, Melanie Lowry, Jonathan Whitehead, five great-grandsons and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family members. Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Tuesday, January8, 2013 at the Limbaugh Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, January 9, 2013 at the Limbaugh Funeral Home.
