Danny Joe Templeton

Danny Joe Templeton, age 63, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, August 14, 2018.  He was born on June 18, 1955 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Betty Ruth Crawford and Billy Joe Templeton.  He lived his early years in Oklahoma but later moved to Texas in the 1970’s.  Danny worked in the Oil & Gas Industry for many years.  He worked for companies such as Nugget Oil Co., CGC Well Service, Star Jet Wireline, and Cedar Creek Resources.  Danny fine- tuned his skills and became a top Petroleum Consultant supervising all phases of operations in the oil and gas industry.  There was nothing he couldn’t do in the oilfield. 

Danny was a genuinely, compassionate man.  A gentle giant.  He was a true gentleman and greeted everyone with a smile.  He knew no strangers.  He was old school, a true Oilfield Cowboy.  He told you how it was with very little, simple words and to the point.  No matter the situation or how stressed he was, all you had to do was wait a few moments before you would see a smile on his face and hear his laughter. 

Danny is preceded in death by his parents and one brother.  He is survived by his loving significant other, Bebe, his niece Cassandra (Sam) Arredondo whom he loved like a daughter and her three children Emma, Alinah, and Sam Jr. whom he loved as his grandchildren.  He was also very fond and proud of niece Tracy Gutierrez who is an RN.   Danny is also survived by his brother at heart David (Peggy) Spooner and their children Matt and Monica.  He also leaves behind two sisters Chrissy and Dana.

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Portland, TX., Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 10 AM.
