Dana Denise Daniel

Dana Denise Daniel, age 55, passed away peacefully on July 6, 2016.  Dana was born June 10, 1961, in Hondo, Texas, the daughter of Ray E. Heiser and Rosa Lee Gordon of Devine, Texas. 

Dana thoroughly enjoyed a variety of artistic endeavors including painting and graphic design. The self-taught artist evolved throughout the years as a stay-at-home mom while residing in Skidmore, Texas and truly blossomed when she relocated to Rockport, Texas in 2006.  She continued to perfect her artistic style and became a well-known local artist as the winner of the Annual Seafair Celebration art contest five times. 

In addition to her art and love for the beach, Dana also had a passion to volunteer and to enhance the community of Rockport that she loved so much.  She held a variety of positions in the community throughout her short period of time on this earth and touched countless lives as a Chamber of Commerce Bay Blazer, President of Bay Blazers, Seafair Opening Ceremony Chairman, LAC Class XIV Graduate, Director of LAC Class XV, Board of Director of the Rockport-Fulton Chamber, Volunteer at Coastal Bend Troop Support, volunteer & event coordinator of the Annual Audrey’s Day at the Beach, Seafair parade Grand Marshall, Seafair Artist Winner for five years, Camp Aranzazu Volunteer, Chairperson of Aquafest, Board of Director of the Rockport Aquarium, and much more…

Dana is survived by her daughter Amie L. Daniel; step-children, Bobby Daniel and Christina Daniel; her brothers Gene Heiser and Carl Heiser; and a number of other relatives and close friends. 

There will be a Memorial Service held on Friday, July 15, 2016 at 1pm in Portland, Texas at Limbaugh Funeral Home.  Following the memorial service, all family and friends are also welcome to visit, eat, drink & celebrate the life of Dana at Rusty’s Bar & Grill in Fulton, Texas.  In lieu of flowers, upon Dana’s wishes, memorial donations may be made to Coastal Bend Troop Support, in c/o of Dana Daniel (Checks made payable to Coastal Bend Troop Support) and mailed to P.O.
