Dalia R. Paiz

Dalia R. Paiz, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully in her hometown of Mathis, Texas, on October 28, 2025, at the age of 66. Born on October 20, 1959, Dalia was a radiant presence in the lives of many, known for her unwavering kindness and her ability to uplift those around her.

Dalia graduated from Mathis High School in 1978, and went on to earn an Associate's Degree in Technology from Del Mar College in 1979. She began her career in finance before ultimately discovering her true passion as a florist, a role she dedicated herself to until her retirement in 2024. Throughout her life, Dalia embodied resilience and optimism, often sharing her favorite sayings: “Where there is a will, there is a way,” and “If it’s God’s will.” These phrases reflected not just her outlook on life, but also the deep faith that anchored her in all things.

Dalia's greatest joy came from her family. She was married to her soulmate, Reinaldo Paiz, having exchanged vows on January 3, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, where she was an active member. Together they cultivated a loving home filled with laughter and warmth. Dalia was a devoted mother to her children, Miroslava, Reinaldo Jr., and Josephine. As a grandmother, she adored her grandbabies showering them with love and attention that will be remembered fondly.

In addition to her family, Dalia had a natural gift for being there for anyone who needed support, whether it was for advice, a listening ear, or simply a comforting hug. Her heart was truly large enough to embrace not only her family and friends, but also complete strangers. Dalia was the life of the party, bringing joy wherever she went. She loved gardening, particularly tending to her flowers, and could often be found relaxing by the pool, listening to music amidst the delightful glow of her disco lights.

Dalia was part of the Mathis FFA Booster Club and made lasting contributions to her community through her work and volunteerism. Her spirit will remain alive in the hearts of those who knew her.

Dalia is reunited with her father, Isaac Rodriguez; siblings Estefana Rodriguez, Marylou Rodriguez, and Albert Gonzalez; and her cherished niece, Marylou Rodriguez. She is survived by her beloved husband of 32 years, Reinaldo Paiz; mother, Josefina N. Rodriguez; children, Miroslava Paiz, Reinaldo (Sonya) Paiz Jr., and Josephine (Christian) Machado; grandchildren, Natalia Peña, Simon Peña, Yesenia Paiz, Reinaldo Paiz III, Elianna Paiz, Lucero Paiz, Jeremiah Machado, Malani Rodriguez, Jezabel Rodriguez, Jazaleena Rodriguez, and Mackenzie Rodriguez; and her siblings, George Rodriguez, Isaac Rodriguez Jr., Lupe Rodriguez, and Lisa Rodriguez.
