In loving memory of Cynthia Ann Roth-Donovan, who passed away in her home on February 07, 2026 at 67 years old. She is honored by her family: her spouse Rodney R. Donovan Sr., her sister Donna R. Roth-Clarkson, her brother Douglas A Roth, family friend Jimmy Hurst, her 2 children Christie M Cannon-Salinas (Antonio G Salinas), and grandchild Christopher A Salinas, and Devon Donovan, her step-children Rodney R Donovan Jr, and grandchildren Christopher Kirkland and Jase Donovan, Anna Jean Donovan-Garcia (Eric Garcia) and grandchildren Eric Garcia II (Michelle Rubio-Garcia), Sean Garcia, Christopher Garcia (Meghan Garcia), Jacob Garcia (Lesly Garcia), Matthew Garcia (Victoria Garcia), and Victoria Garcia-Parra (Osvaldo Parra), Christie L Donovan-Kurtz (Ronald Kurtz) and grandchildren Armando Cardenas, Mario Cardenas and great-grandchildren Karsyn and Emerald, Juan Cardenas Jr and great-grandchildren Sophia and Alijah, Frances Cardenas-Marcos (Benjamin Marcos) and great-grandchildren Kesley Cardenas-Mendoza and Bryson Ybarra, and Jon B Donovan (Jennifer Donovan) and great-grandchildren Jasmine and Trent Donovan.
Cynthia was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on July 16, 1958, and moved to Texas with her family when she was 11 years old. She participated in many events growing up and won a 2nd place VFW Voice of Democracy Award before graduating from Nixon High School in 1976. She attended TX Women's University before having her first child in 1979.
She worked at Laredo Junior College when she met her spouse and married in 1986 before having her second child in 1989. She has lived in different places, including Laredo, Carrollton, San Antonio, Arlington, Portland, and Ingleside, TX, as well as Norman, OK, before settling in Bayside, TX.
Cynthia taught for 27 years in the Gregory-Portland ISD, first as a computer teacher in Gregory-Portland Intermediate and earning a certification for Education Aide from the state of Texas in 2000, before becoming a Special Education teacher as well as being a tennis coach at Gregory-Portland Junior High. She graduated with Cum Laude Academic Honors from TX A&M University-Corpus Christi in 2004 and was honored with a Strathmore's Who's Who Award in 2008-2009. She was recognized for her dedication to teaching when she retired in 2020.
Since then, she has spent time with her family and making her home warm and inviting.
A Memorial service will be held on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 11:00 am, at Winsteads' Funeral Home, 500 Wildcat Dr, Portland, Tx 78374.
