Cristina E. Garcia, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and devoted homemaker, passed away peacefully surrounded by her beloved family on April 15, 2026, in Uvalde, Texas. Born on December 15, 1931, in Runge, Texas, Cristina lived a life full of love, warmth, and generosity. Her caring and kind nature left a deep and lasting impression on all who knew her.
Cristina was a pillar of strength and love for her family. She was married to her devoted husband, Alberto Garcia, for 55 wonderful years until his passing. Together, they nurtured a large family that was the heart of her world. Cristina was the proud mother of twelve beloved children.
Throughout her life, Cristina found joy in the simple and heartfelt pleasures that filled her home with warmth. She loved to cook for her family, especially delighting in preparing tamales that became legendary among relatives and friends. Her passion for dancing, playing bingo, and sewing reflected her vibrant spirit and zest for life, which remained strong even as she grew older.
Cristina is reunited with her beloved husband, Alberto Garcia; parents; siblings; two grandsons; one granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren. She leaves her legacy to her cherished children, Diolanda Garcia, Rosalinda Vasquez, Elodia Madrigal, Erma (Emilio) Hernandez, Lucinda (Ruben) Velasquez, Sofia (David) DelBosque, Susana Pucci, Diana (Jose Luis) Rodriguez Jr., Andrea (David) Esquivel, Lori Ann Prado, Alberto Garcia Jr., and Abel (Nancy) Garcia; 49 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Guadalupe Estraca; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Cristina E. Garcia’s extraordinary life was a testament to love, family, and devotion. Her kindness and care were felt deeply in every corner of her home and heart. Though she has left this world, her compassionate spirit and the beautiful memories she created will forever resonate with her family, friends, and all who had the honor to know her. She will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered.
