Consuelo V. Hinojosa

Consuelo V. Hinojosa, 92, of Kingsville, Texas, peacefully passed away on April 7, 2026, in her hometown, surrounded by the love and memories of a life well lived.

She was born on February 23, 1934, in Kingsville, Texas to Macario Villanueva and Elisa Cantu. Consuelo dedicated her life to her family as a loving homemaker, creating a home filled with warmth, comfort, and unwavering care. She found happiness in life's simple pleasures—spending time with her loved ones, listening to music, going dancing, and enjoying the outdoors through fishing and camping.

Together with her beloved husband, Agustin, she created a large and loving family that became her greatest pride and joy. Their home was filled with laughter, love, and the kind of memories that last a lifetime.

Consuelo had a special way of bringing people together. Nothing meant more to her than having her family close and gathered around, sharing stories, meals and time together. Her kitchen was always open, her table always full, and her home was a place where everyone felt welcomed, cared for and loved.

She was a woman of deep love and devotion, whose presence brought warmth and joy to those around her. Her love reached across generations, leaving a family legacy that will be treasured for years to come.

She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Agustin M. Hinojosa, whom she loved dearly and missed deeply. Together again, she rests in eternal peace, bringing lasting comfort to all who cherished her.

She is also preceded in death by her sisters, Esperanza, Estella, and Sulema; one brother, Macario; three grandchildren, Alonzo Gonzales Jr., Jessica Trevino, and Albert Hinojosa; seven great-grandchildren, Michael Gonzales, Joey Lee, Ariella and Allysa Segura, Hunter and Heston Bishop, and Jayden Tullos; and one great-great-grandson, Haven Sandoval.

She is survived by her children, Mary Jane (Cruz) De La Garza; Agustin (Agapita) Hinojosa III; Elisa (Alonzo) Gonzales; Rosario (Roel) Garcia; Dina (Ernesto) Hinojosa; Angelica (Rick) De La Rosa; Armando (Tammy) Hinojosa; and Margarita (Cleofas †) Moya. She also leaves behind thirty-four grandchildren; 103 great-grandchildren; fifty-seven great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 13, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Kingsville Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Martin's Catholic Church with Father Charles Silvas officiating with a final viewing at 9-10am.  Interment will follow at Riviera Cemetery.

Consuelo will be remembered for the love she gave so freely, the joy she found in her family, and the countless memories she leaves behind. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
