Christopher Robert Weaver
October 20, 1965 – May 7, 2025
Christopher Robert Weaver, a proud Navy veteran, devoted father, loving grandfather, loyal brother, cherished son, and former spouse, passed away peacefully on May 7, 2025, at the age of 59.
Born on October 20, 1965, Christopher lived a life defined by service, sacrifice, and unwavering love for those around him. He served honorably in the United States Navy as a Master Diver for 27 years, dedicating himself fully to the rigors of military life with discipline, courage, and excellence. His commitment did not end with retirement—he continued his career in the diving field, where he was respected for his skill, leadership, and work ethic.
Though never one to seek the spotlight, Christopher quietly gave his all—to his country, to his work, and above all, to his family. He accepted life with grace, both its triumphs and its trials, always pressing forward with strength and humility. He was a devoted father who taught by example, a steady presence in the lives of his grandchildren and stepdaughters, and a man whose love was felt through action and quiet loyalty.
Christopher was also a son who honored his parents, a brother whose bonds ran deep, and a friend and colleague who left a lasting impact. He will be remembered for his dry wit, his resilience, and the unshakable steadiness he offered to all who knew him.
He is survived by his son, Chance (Kyla) of Portland, TX; his mother, Loretta (Culp) Weaver of Castroville, TX; sister, Lynn (Jim) Jones of Castroville, TX; brothers, Michael Weaver of Virginia and Sean (Masako) Weaver of Virginia; nieces, nephews, former spouse, stepdaughters, and many dear friends and colleagues who considered him family. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Weaver of Castroville, TX, who now welcomes him home.
A service with full military honors will be held on June 20, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery, where family and friends will come together to celebrate his life, mourn his passing, and honor a man who gave so much to so many.
Arrangements are under the direction and personal care of the professionals at Winsteads’ Funeral Home. (361) 643-6564 www.winsteadsfuneralhome.com
