Charlotte Jean Urban

Charlotte Jean Urban, born on August 4, 1935, in Lane City, Texas, peacefully departed this life on February 14, 2026, in Portland, Texas. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, leaving behind a legacy of love and dedication.

Charlotte made a distinguished career with Mt. Vernon Pharmacy, where she devoted herself to serving the community and ensuring the well-being of those around her. Her commitment to her work was matched only by her strong faith and community involvement as a proud member of First Baptist Church in Portland, Texas.

Charlotte is survived by her loving family: her sons, Steven Wayne Urban and his wife Susan, John Douglas Urban and his wife Deanna, and Russell Alan Urban and his wife Diane. She cherished her role as a grandmother to Cara Smith, Rachel Urban, Alissa Villarreal, Karen Urban, Lindsey Mena, and Jessica Eikel, and was blessed with ten great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Johnnie James Urban, and her son, James Kent Urban. Their memories will forever hold a cherished place in the hearts of those who loved her.

The Urban family extends their heartfelt gratitude to The Pavilion Assisted Living for the kindness and care shown to Charlotte during her time there. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit and influence will remain alive in the hearts of all who knew her.

A burial service will be held on February 20, 2026, at Palms Memorial Garden located at 4335 Co Rd 3567, Taft, TX 78390. The service will begin at 1:00 PM, followed by her interment at 2:00 PM.
