Charles G. Rule, DDS 

Charles Gary Rule passed away November 20, 2024, with family by his side, after a long and courageous battle with Cancer. Chuck was born on October 20, 1939, in Hampton, Iowa to Col. (Ret) John Sudduth Rule and Veone Peterson Rule. As the son of a career Air Force dad, he resided in many places. While his family was stationed at Randolph AFB in San Antonio, Texas, he attended & graduated from Alamo Heights High School where he lettered in track and football. He attended the University of Texas at Austin where he was a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. He went on to Baylor dental school where he earned a degree in Doctor of Dental Surgery. Chuck was a fourth-generation dentist. He proudly followed in the footsteps of his father, grandfather, and great-uncle.

He joined the Air Force as a captain and was stationed in Wiesbaden, Germany as well as Lowry AFB in Denver, Colorado where he worked on service members returning from Vietnam. After leaving the Air Force, Chuck continued his dental career in private practice. Like his father and grandfather, he was a Mason and a member of the Sons of the American Revolution. 

He is survived by his four children, Walter (Meredith) Rule, Cindy (Ron) Gressett, Matthew (Becky) Rule and Terry (Crystal) Gerberg as well as 8 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Chuck was an avid UT fan. You could find him every weekend in front of the TV watching his beloved UT football games. He also loved watching any UT sports as well as the Houston Astros. 

He will be remembered for his love of family and strong will to live life to the fullest.

The family would like to especially thank Dr. Vijay Gunuganti at Texas Oncology in San Antonio, Texas as well as Harbor Hospice in Portland, Texas for providing such loving and kind care. 

He will be buried at the Coastal Bend State Veterans Cemetery in Corpus Christi, Texas on December 3, 2024 at 2pm.
