With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Charles “Scott” Reckaway on May 30, 2026, at the age of 58. Born on January 15, 1968, in Ganado, Texas, and raised in Edna, Texas, Scott lived a life marked by kindness, humor, and a genuine love for those around him. Of all his accomplishments, he found his greatest fulfillment in being a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Though he never viewed himself as extraordinary, his family and friends knew otherwise. Scott had a gift for bringing joy and laughter wherever he went, and his warm spirit left a lasting impression on all who knew him. In his younger years, he was known for his adventurous nature and playful mischief, creating stories and memories that would be shared and cherished for years to come.
Throughout his life, Scott built meaningful and lasting relationships both personally and professionally. His kindness, loyalty, and genuine interest in others made him a trusted friend, valued colleague, and source of strength for many. He enriched the lives of countless people through his compassion, humor, and steadfast presence. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the friendships he nurtured, and the many lives he touched.
While Scott’s presence will be deeply missed, the love, faith, and memories he shared will continue to inspire those he leaves behind.
Scott is survived by his wife, Sharon Reckaway; his daughter, Katelyn Diane Reckaway; his son, Kyle Scott Reckaway, (Tressa) and grandson Cyrus; his parents Charles and Dorothy Reckaway; sister-in-law, Tina Reckaway; and many well-loved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
