Carolyn Rebecca Burchfield Tritten, 77 went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on December 2, 2016. She was born on September 29, 1939 to Virginia and Jack Coleman in Augusta, Georgia. Carolyn grew up in Savannah Georgia, and met and married Harold Burchfield on March 11, 1956 in Galveston, Texas where she was going to Catholic Boarding school at the time. Together they had four children, ten grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. They moved to Portland, Texas in 1968 where she resided until her passing. She was preceded in death by her husband Jack Tritten, parents Virginia, and Jack Coleman, grandparents Carolyn and Angus Kemp, and Kate and John Tom Coleman brother Johnny Coleman, and sister Maria Kemp Bean. Carolyn is survived by her children Donna Burchfield Bailey (Michael Bailey) , Richard Burchfield (Wendi Burchfield), Timothy Burchfield (Kristine Burchfield), Sherry Burchfield Rose (Dennis Rose), grandchildren Candice Dooley (Rob Dooley), Cassandra Harig (Kristopher Harig), Jeremiah Bailey (Ashleigh Bailey), Austin Rose (Jessica Darling), Taylor Rose, Whitney Rose, Trenton Burchfield, Paige Burchfield, Erin Burchfield, and Ryan Burchfield, great grandchildren Madison Dooley, Megan Dooley, Jonathan Harig, Ambrose Bailey and Mirabelle Rose, and siblings Jim Coleman, Bobbi Coleman, John Kemp, father of her children Harold Burchfield, many lifetime friends and “adopted children”. Carolyn was a wonderful mother, friend, confidant, and was loved by many. She led numerous souls to the Lord through her non judgmental, kind heart. She was a prayer warrior that prayed without ceasing for anyone that was in need. She loved children and nurtured over 1,200 infants, toddlers, and school aged children in her in home daycare that she ran for over twenty years. She will be remembered fondly for the kind and generous person that she was and missed by many. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 9, 2016 at the Limbaugh Funeral Home in Portland, Texas from 5:00 – 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at Oak Ridge Baptist Church of Portland, Texas at 10:00am with burial following at the Palms Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Portland, Texas.
