Carmen R. Torrez

Carmen R. Torrez passed away at her home Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the age of 99. She was born January 17, 1916 in Bastrop, Texas. She is preceded in death by 5 sons, Jesus, Ernesto, Julian, Alejandro, and Martin; 4 sisters and 3 brothers. She is survived by her 10 children Candelario (Dora) Torrez, Felipe (Idolina) Torrez, Gabino (Ofelia) Torrez, Martin (Linda) Torrez, Juan R. Torrez, Lupe (Gus) Munoz, Nora Ortiz, Maggie (Joseph) Riojas, Ramona Martinez, and Alejandro Torrez; 40 grandchildren; 86 great grandchildren; 88 great-great grandchildren; and 29 great-great-great grandchildren; one sister.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 9:00 PM, Sunday, July 5, 2015 at the Limbaugh Funeral Home with a rosary to be recited by the Guadalupana’s at 7:00 PM that same evening. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 6, 2015 at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Portland, Texas. Burial to follow at the Palms Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers are Pete Gonzales, Jr., Gilbert Martinez, Gus Munoz, Jr., Gabino Torrez, Jr., Felipe Torrez, Jr., and Rene Torrez.
