Carmen F Medellin

Mrs. Carmen Flores Medellin, formerly of Armstrong Texas, age 94, was called to rest with The Lord on August 2nd, 2023. Mrs. Carmen was born to Jose and Delores Flores, year 1929, in the town of Parras de la Fuente, Coahuila. A small Mexican municipality surrounded by vast rolling hills and everlasting native beauty that cohesively mirrored her loving spirit. Unequivocally, it was here where Carmen developed a strong affinity and connection with her Catholic faith. Acquiring a position within a local Catholic Church as a formal Spanish instructor. In the mid-1950's, Carmen left Parras de la Fuente alongside her wedded husband, Oscar Medellin, to cement and blossom new roots in the United States. Furthermore, discovering a new setting to call home, historic South Texas cattle range, Armstrong Ranch.  Introspectively, the job duties of the ranch granted Carmen to showcase her dexterous skills/talents for more than over 50 years, where she worked candidly alongside her husband and three children. Moreover, her God bestowed gifts were facilitated in the acts of preparing homemade meals to foreign dignitaries and domestic diplomats alike, to expressing her caregiving and nurturing qualities to the Armstrong family and its descendants. Carmen's children are still actively employed at the Armstrong Ranch today, carrying on her legacy and hardworking spirit that she acclimated ever so naturally. Her passing marks a life of impetus fulfillment to family, friends and loved ones. She is preceded in death by: Husband Oscar Medellin, Sisters: Gloria Pachicano, Emma Gallardo, and Brother Rodrigo Flores. Carmen is survived by her brother, Mario Flores and 3 children: Teresa Medellin, Gerardo and Wife Sylvia Medellin, and Carmela Medellin, 5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. As a  remembrance and celebration of her life a Vigil prayer service will be held for Carmen Medellin at Kingsville Memorial Funeral Home via 7:00 PM on Tuesday, August 8th, 2023. Followed by a Funeral Mass held on Wednesday, August 9, 2023.
