Candelaria Ortiz

Our Beloved Mother Candelaria Ortiz was called home

by our Heavenly Father on August 12, 2020.

Candelaria, affectionately known by all as “Grandma Lala” was born on August 20, 1923

to Ramon and Adela Rodriguez in Rongee, Texas.

She met the love of her life Esteban Ortiz in McAllen, Texas.  They married in

March 1945, built a wonderful life and family for 67 years until her beloved husband

was called home by Our Heavenly Father on March 26, 2012

Grandma Lala was a devout Catholic.  She prayed faithfully every day until her last breath.

Her devotion and love for Our Lord Jesus Christ is reflected by her family and loved ones.

She enjoyed caring for her plants, watching Wheel of Fortune and frequent trips to IHOP for

Pancakes.  She enjoyed spending time with her Children and Grandchildren.  She was a

Devoted Wife, Loving Mother, Grandmother, Aunt, Sister, Neighbor and Friend.

She is preceded in death by her husband Esteban; parents: Ramon and Adela Rodriguez;

Her siblings: Raul, Jesus, Felipa, Roberto and Andreita.  She is also preceded in death by her

Son-in-law Salvador Arnold Solis, Jr. and her grandson Anthony Lee Ortiz.

She is survived by her Children: Esteban Reyes Ortiz (Lydia), Virginia Solis,

Amado Ortiz (Veronica), Roberto Ortiz (Diana) and Jose Luis Ortiz (Elda), 15 Grandchildren,

36 Great-Grandchildren, One Great-Great-Grandson and numerous nieces & nephews.

A visitation will be from 9:00 AM - 9:30 AM with the Rosary to begin at 9:30 AM on Monday August 17, 2020 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Monday August 17, 2020 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gregory. Burial to follow to the Gregory Cemetery.

She will be Truly Missed by all that Loved Her.
