Brian Lee Brymer

Brian "BigUn Lee Brymer, a cherished resident of Mathis, Texas, passed away on August 27, 2025, at the age of 61. Born on November 12, 1963, in Austin, Texas, Brian lived a vibrant life filled with memories that will live on in the hearts of those he loved.

Brian dedicated 34 years of his career to the Texas Department of Transportation, where he worked tirelessly until his retirement in 2016. His commitment to his work and his community was a hallmark of his character. A proud graduate of A.S. Johnston High School, Class of 1982, he valued the education that paved the way for his future endeavors.

In his personal life, Brian found joy in the company of his beloved wife, Robin, whom he married on November 9, 2006. Together, they built a loving home filled with laughter and memories. Brian often reminisced about family and friends, sharing stories that brought warmth and smiles to those fortunate enough to hear them. His love extended to their dogs, Goldie and Gracie, with Gracie holding a special place in his heart as he would always state, "she was one of a kind."

A man of many interests, Brian had a passion for old cars, sport cars, and muscle cars. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and riding his motorcycle, indulging in adventures that allowed him to connect with nature and the open road. He was known to bring joy and laughter into the lives of those around him, often humorously exclaiming, "stop laughing!" inspired by his favorite DriveTime commercial.

Brian is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Robin Brymer; stepson, Chad (Samantha) Thompson; step-grandchildren, Londyn and Adalyn Thompson; siblings, James (Martha) Brymer and Carol (David) Bedrich; nephew, James (Samantha) Lyndon Bedrich; and niece, Callie Ann Bedrich. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lyndon Brymer and Nancy Wallin Brymer, and his infant brother, Mark Allan Brymer.

The Brymer family would like to extend their gratitude to all of the family and friends who have shown love and support during this difficult time.

The legacy of Brian "BigUn" Lee Brymer lives on in the memories created with family and friends, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

There will be no funeral services for Brian, but he will be laid to rest in the Brymer family plot in Caldwell, Texas, where he will join his cherished grandparents, parents, and brother.
