Billie Jean Williams Grierson, age 90, passed away on Sunday July 14, 2019. Born November 24, 1928 to Allie and Edna Williams. She was one of 10 children and grew up in the Kirby Lumber town of Bessie May in East Texas. She worked retail for a number of years, 12 years at the Portland Beall’s Department Store in Portland. She was a very hard worker and took great pride in her department. Achieving top salesagent a number of times. She always had a smile for everyone she met. She is preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, Carl J. Grierson. Her parents, her brothers, Glenn, John, Troy and Gene, her sisters, Dorothy, Helen and Francis. And a great granddaughter Michaela Mora. She is survived by her sister, Juanita Dean of Beaumont, Tx. Her children Sue Hayes (Kenny) of Pearland, Tx, James Brown of Beaumont, Tx. Charlotte Gallier of Huntsville, Tx. Betty Weed (Bill) of Corpus Christi, Tx. Cynthia Ray (Jimmy) of Portland, Tx. Steve Brown (Rhonda) of Onalaska, Tx. 10 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM on July 18 at Limbaugh Funeral Home. A Graveside service will be at 10:00 AM on July 19 at Palms Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Portland, Texas. The family would like to extend a thank you to the staff of Coastal Palms Nursing home and the staff of Harbor Hospice for their wonderful care and friendship shown to our Mother. A special thanks to Clare Gilmore, RN and Dr. Jerome LeeSang. Proverbs 31:28-29 Her children rise up and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women have done excellently, but you surpass them all.”
