Benjamen
Hodges
Dec 12, 1973 — Aug 21, 2026
Benjamen “Ben” Patrick Hodges, age 52, of Orange Grove, Texas, passed away on August 21, 2026. He was born in Houston, Texas, on December 12, 1973, to Ray Patrick Hodges and Donna Hodges.
Ben attended both Tivy High School and Orange Grove High School and graduated in 1992. On August 7, 2004, he married his beloved wife, Lisa Dawn Hodges, in Sun City, Texas. In the early years of their marriage, they lived in Pearland, Texas, eventually moving to the Corpus area.
Ben spent many years building a career in the oil field, working throughout Texas. He started working for Sper with Edward Smith who became like a father to him. For the last 13 years, he led in many roles at Supreme Production Services and Python. He and Lisa attended The Grove Baptist Church in Orange Grove.
Ben loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time on his tractor. He was a loyal fan of the Longhorns, Spurs, and Giants. There wasn’t a movie he couldn’t quote or a song lyric he couldn’t sing. Ben was known for his readiness to lend a hand. He could often be found helping friends and family with one project or another, whether it was mowing fields or fixing appliances. He especially loved coaching the boys’ sports teams as they grew up. His friends meant the world to him, and Ben truly considered everyone a friend. He endearingly called just about everyone “bud.” His humor, generosity, willingness to help, and love for the people around him will be deeply missed. More than anything else, Ben was known for his love for the Lord. He kept a note-filled Bible on the edge of his desk, that he opened often. He loved singing old hymns and listening to good sermons. Most importantly though, He truly had a heart that desired to follow and exemplify Christ. That was always evident in Ben’s life, in both word and deed.
Those Who Went Before Him
Ben was preceded in death by his father, Ray Patrick Hodges, and his nephew, Caleb Ryan Seward.
