Barbara Faye Isaacks Medina passed away peacefully after 82 wonderful years on April 1, 2025 in Corpus Christi, Texas. Faye was born to Herschel H. Isaacks and LaVerne Simmons Isaacks on October 5, 1942 in Sinton, Texas. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe G. Medina in 2015. They were happily married for 30 years. She was the only child of Herschel and LaVerne and was very close to them.
Faye graduated from Gregory-Portland High School in 1961, Valedictorian of her class. She attended Del Mar College for two years and then graduated from Texas A & I University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Home Economics. She began her teaching career at Miller High School for a year and then moved to Moody High School for two years. After that, she was offered a position at Gregory-Portland High School, where she remained for the remaining 35 years before retirement. Faye completed her Master’s Degree at Corpus Christi University in 1984. She then taught Diversified Career Preparation at Richard Milburn Academy for two years.
After retirement, Faye immersed herself back to her true love of sewing and quilting. She taught sewing classes at Heirloom Elegance and Singer Sewing Center as well as teaching one-on-one to students in her apartment.
Faye is survived by a daughter, Lisa Huddler Hall (Aaron), a son, Bryan Huddler, a grandson, Matthew Hall (Carley), and a grandson, Justin Hall (Karina). Faye was known as Mom, Grams and friend to those that knew her as a truly loving and special lady. She will forever be missed.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 9th, 2025, at First Baptist Church Corpus Christi, 3115 Ocean Drive, Corpus Christi, Texas, with interment to follow at the Gregory Cemetery in Greogry.
