Augustin R. Rodriguez

Augustin Ramos Rodriguez, 81, of Kingsville, Texas, passed away on November 17, 2025.
He was born on February 28, 1944, in Mercedes, Texas, to Cresencio Rodriguez and Ramona Ramos Rodriguez. Augustin built a life defined by hard work, loyalty, and grit. He began his career as a mechanic specializing in Volkswagen and Porsche vehicles, later becoming a supervisor for pipe fitters, and ultimately becoming his own boss. He took pride in every skill he mastered.

Augustin,gave his life to the Lord at the age of 38 he loved the Lord and dedicated many years of service to his church. He served as a deacon, president of the men's group, Sunday School Superintendent, and held numerous other leadership roles. His faith shaped the way he lived, loved, and led, and he touched countless lives through his commitment to ministry.

Augustin loved to travel until he no longer could, and he enjoyed camping and fishing on his boats. His humor, independence, and unforgettable stories made him easy to love and impossible to forget.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Puresa Sarmiento Rodriguez (Purie); his daughter, Mary Jean Rodriguez Peterson (Jeana); his son, Augustin Rodriguez Jr.; his grandson,  Augustin Matthew Rodriguez (Lilianna); his granddaughters, Gabriella Rodriguez and Julia Rae Peterson; and 4 adored great-grandchildren, Emery, Alina, Octavius, and Sebastian.

He is also survived by his seven sisters: Margarita Trevino, Christina Mejia (Felix), Mary Esparza (Julian), Josie Dominguez (Joe), Madalena "Molly" Rodriguez, Herlinda "Linda" Navarro (David), and Dominga "Minga" Rice (Kirk); and his four brothers: Jessie Rodriguez (Diana), Cresencio Rodriguez Jr. (Margarita), Daniel Rodriguez, and Juan Rodriguez (Roseann); along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved him dearly.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Margie Ann Rodriguez; his grandson, Joshua Abraham Peterson; and his brothers, Simon Rodriguez and David Rodriguez.

Augustin leaves behind a legacy of strength, humor, and lived a life that touched every person who knew him.
