Arturo Luna, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, friend, and proud veteran of the United States Navy passed away on April 14, 2024, in Houston, TX. Born to Cecilia and Rafael Luna on September 8, 1962, Arturo was a man of many passions.
Arturo's early years were shared with his siblings, creating a tapestry of memories filled with laughter and camaraderie. After graduating from McArthur High School in 1981, he enlisted in the United States Navy in 1982 as an E3 Aviation Mechanic. He continued his passion for mechanical aviation through his honorable discharge in 1992.
Arturo resided in Kingsville, TX where he met and married the love of his life, Norma Jean in 1984. Together they weathered life's storms and celebrated its joys. Norma was his anchor and together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and the joyous hustle and bustle of raising their four children: Artie, Melissa, Ashley, and Natalie.
Professionally, Arturo always approached every job with diligence and pride. His entrepreneurial spirit thrived with his body shop, L&B's Automotive. He possessed a mechanical soul that constantly churned out new business ideas. He was always thinking of innovative ways to create value throughout his lifetime.
Arturo's legacy is also carried on by his 7 adored grandchildren, each of them will remember their grandpa for his boundless energy, whether he was teaching them how to fix a car, cheering from the sidelines at their games, or simply by sharing his endless love for them.
Arturo's spirit of generosity extended beyond his family, he was not just a husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, but a guiding light, admired and respected by all who knew him. He believed in teaching through example, showing us that every action carries a consequence and every moment is an opportunity to learn. His faith in God was a testament to his character, defining him as a man of integrity, compassion, and love for others.
As we bid farewell to a husband, father, brother, grandfather, friend, mentor and a legend, let us remember Arturo not with tears, but with laughter, not with sorrow, but with gratitude for the gifts of his presence in our lives.
His absence will be deeply felt by his family and friends.
Arturo is preceded in death by his son Artie Luna, parents Cecilia and Rafael Luna, and brother Edward Luna.
Arturo is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Luna, daughters, Melissa King (Steven), Ashley Saenz (Sam), and Natalie Piazza (Aaron). His grandchildren Isabella and Katalyna King, Samuel, Adrianna, and Jason Saenz, and Antonio and Angelo Piazza. His brothers, Rafael, Fernando, Aaron Luna, sister Cecilia Sarabia, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Though he may have left this earthly realm, his spirit lives on in the memories we cherish, the lessons we've learned, and the love that will forever bloom in our hearts. His memory will continue to bloom like a garden, and his spirit will speed alongside all the cars he repaired.
Rest easy Arturo, knowing that your legacy of love and laughter will continue to inspire future generations.
