Anna Casarez

Anna Casarez passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023. She was born on March 18, 1946, in Corpus Christi, Texas to Eralio and Jovita S. Casarez. She was preceded in death by both of her parents. 

Anna graduated from Mathis High School in 1964 and attended Texas Women’s University in Denton, Texas. She taught school in Houston ISD for over 35 years and earned a Master’s degree from the University of Houston. After she retired she was a substitute teacher in Bay City ISD and was an active member and taught CCD classes at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Bay City.

Her passions were reading, history, politics and her religion.

Left to cherish Ms. Casarez loving memory are 2 sisters, Janie (Manuel) Valdez, Rosario Casarez (Fred Askew); and numerous Nieces and Nephews. 

Visitation will be at 4 pm and Rosary at 7 pm on Friday, March 3, 2023. Funeral Mass will be at 10am on Saturday, March 4, 2023 followed by interment to Descanso Eterno II.
