Amanda Renee Hernandez

Amanda Renee Hernandez, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on September 11, 2025, at the age of 52. She was born on January 14, 1973, in Corpus Christi, Texas, where she grew up is Sarita and Kingsville surrounded by family, faith, and small-town roots she carried proudly throughout her life.

Amanda leaves behind her loving husband, Joel M. Hernandez, and her three children, Jessica Hunt (Paul Hunt), Janelle Moreno (John Moreno), and Joel Hernandez Jr. (Amanda Hernandez). She was blessed with the greatest joy of her life—her grandchildren: Juni Gomez, Aaliyah Hernandez, Ambrielle Garcia, Tristyn Hernandez, Kayden Hernandez, and Ronan Glass, each of whom brought endless light to her heart.

She is also survived by her mother, Noelia Cantu; her brothers, Daniel Cantu (Delilah Cantu) and their children Daniel, Gianna, and Layla; Michael Cantu and his children Aleia, Armando, and Antonio; and many other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and family she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her father, Armando Cantu.

Amanda will always be remembered for her kind and giving spirit. She never met a stranger and treated everyone with warmth and love. She had a deep appreciation for life's simple joys, especially her country music, with George Strait holding a special place in her heart.

Her presence touched countless lives, and her legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will live on through her family and all who knew her.
