Alfredo Gonzales, a beloved husband, son, brother, and friend, passed away on July 13, 2025, in Mathis, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and laughter. Born on October 8, 1963, in Stamford, Texas, Alfredo had a heart that welcomed all, always making others feel at ease with his friendly disposition and great sense of humor.
Alfredo will be deeply missed by his wife of 35 years, Alicia Flores Gonzales, who stood by his side through all of life's joys and challenges. He is survived by his loving mother, Felipa Hernandez, father, Jose (Josie) Gonzales, and his cherished siblings, Oscar (Diane) Hernandez Jr., Noe (Wendy) Hernandez, Pedro Guevara (Kim) Hernandez, Rene (Nickelle) Gonzales, Michael (Monica) Gonzales, San Juanita Hernandez, Minerva Hernandez, Cecilia Guevara (Bill Lesley), Mary Christi Hernandez, Sylvia Hernandez, and Adriana (Phillip) Perez. He leaves behind a large family of numerous nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
Alfredo was known for his passion for barbecuing, often gathering family and friends for meals filled with love, laughter, and shared memories. He always cherished the time spent with those he cared for most, reflecting a life dedicated to nurturing relationships.
Though he has been preceded in death by his stepfather, Oscar Hernandez, and his brother, Martin Hernandez, Alfredo's spirit remains alive through the countless memories he created with those fortunate enough to know him. His legacy of kindness, humor, and family values will continue to resonate for years to come.
Visitation for Alfredo will be a at 9:45 am and Holy Rosary will be recited at 10:30 am followed by Funeral Mass at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 22, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will be at Descanso Eterno II Cemetery following the mass.
