Adelita Esquivel, a cherished matriarch and radiant soul, gracefully departed this life on September 20, 2025, in the comfort of her home at the age of 77. Born on January 25, 1948, Adelita illuminated the lives of those fortunate enough to know her, weaving love and warmth throughout the tapestry of her family and friendships.

Adelita now joins her beloved parents, Ramon Saldivar and Anita Saldivar, along with six siblings who preceded her in death. Their spirits surely welcomed her back with open arms, reuniting in the eternal embrace of love and memory.

In her earthly journey, Adelita was a foundation of strength and nurturing. She devoted herself to her roles as mother and grandmother, pouring her heart into the lives of her children: Leticia Castillo, Rachel Castillo, Edward Esquivel, Marty Esquivel, and Juan Perez. Her love extended beyond her immediate family, as she also embraced her daughters-in-law, Jessica and Nancy Perez, with warmth and tenderness. Adelita's legacy will live on through her numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each one a testament to her profound impact and the unbreakable bonds she forged with her family.

A viewing will be held at Winsteads' Funeral Home in Portland, Texas, on September 24, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, allowing friends and family to gather and pay their respects to this remarkable woman. The evening will culminate in a Rosary, commencing at 7:00 PM, a sacred time to reflect on the life and spirit of Adelita. The following morning, her Funeral Service will be celebrated at Immaculate Conception in Taft, Texas, at 10:00 AM, a final farewell to honor her rich journey and the indelible mark she left on her community.

Through the ebbs and flows of life's tides, Adelita stood as a beacon of love, compassion, and resilience. She reminded us always that family is not just a word, but an enduring bond, one that continues to live on through the hearts she touched.
