Adan Adame, a devoted family man and passionate outdoorsman, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2026, in Mathis, Texas. Born on September 25, 1943, in Helena, Texas, Adan lived a life marked by dedication, warmth, and a deep appreciation for nature and craftsmanship.
Adan's career was distinguished by over 26 years of service with WT Young Construction, followed by 15 years of dedicated work until his retirement from the City of Mathis. His commitment to his work earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and community members alike. Beyond his professional achievements, Adan was known for his good humor, often sharing laughter as a cherished jokester among friends and family.
Adan embraced a rich tapestry of hobbies that reflected his love of the outdoors and skilled craftsmanship. An enthusiastic hunter and avid fisher, Adan found joy in spending time in nature, often coupled with his interest in target practice and an enduring passion for rifles. He expressed his creativity through woodworking, particularly in building patio furniture, and delighted in cooking and barbecuing, with brisket being a favored specialty that brought loved ones together.
Adan is reunited with his parents, Agustin Adame and Salome Valerio Adame; daughter, Laurie Ann Adame; son, Steven Adame; two grandchildren, Crystal Nicole Lopez and James Malcolm Hernandez; one great-granddaughter, Aria Zambrano; sisters, Paula Mendoza, Dora Diaz, and Josie Lockamy. He leaves his memories to his beloved wife of 52 years, Yolanda Adame; children, Eva Martinez, Erima Hernandez, Carmen Adame Segura, Adan Adame Jr., and Adan B. Adame III; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; siblings, Noemi Acuna and Agustin Adame Jr.; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Visitation will be held from 4 PM until 9 PM on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at Winsteads' Funeral Home, where a Holy Rosary will be recited that same evening at 7 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 AM on Thursday, May 14, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Rite of Committal and Interment will follow at Cenizo Hill Cemetery.
Adan Adame’s life was one of steadfast devotion to his family, his work, and the simple pleasures that gave him joy. His memory will live on through the many lives he touched and the enduring spirit of warmth and laughter he shared so freely.
