Abel Flores

Abel C. Flores born August 5th 1916 in Derby, Texas to Elojio and Maria De la Paz Flores, went to be with his creator on June 21, 2011. He passed away surrounded by his family and friends.
Abel was a hard working and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He worked as a farmer at Ritchie farms for 60 years.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 36 years Leonor Flores, and his eldest son Abel G. Flores (Teresa) and granddaughter Sonia.
He is survived by his children Angel of Rockport, Magdalena Cisneros (Jesse)of Portland, Arnulfo (Terri) of Gregory, Maria Luisa Williams (Walter)of Gregory, and Alfonso (Mary) of Corpus Christi.
He also leaves behind numerous grandchildren, great- grandchildren, and great- great grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Abel loved to tap his feet to a good song and chat for hours about the old days while giving out advise on the simple things in life. He always had a ready smile for his grandchildren. He leaves a void in our lives that will be hard to fill.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2011 from 12:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. that same evening at the Limbaugh Funeral Home.
A funeral mass will be celebrated at 2:00 P.M. on Thursday, June 23, 2011 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Gregory. Interment will follow at The Palms Memorial Gardens in Portland.
