Hertha Erna Furhken Buehring

Hertha Erna Fuhrken Buehring , 94, passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2017 in Orange Grove, Texas. Hertha was born June 19, 1922, to Henry and Bertha Fuhrken in Orange Grove. She and Harry owned Harry's Grocery and Market. she also worked at Orange Grove ISD cafeteria, Orange Crate, Senior Citizen Center, Boy Scout and Girl Scout Camps. She was a member of First Evangelical Lutheran Church and served on the Alter Guild. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband of 56 years Harry Buehring, sister Selma Koenning and brothers Erwin, Alfred, Elton (Pete), Werner and Hilbert (Buddy) Fuhrken. She is survived by her son Harvey (Jane) Buehring, daughter Janice (James) Wostal, grandchildren Jessica (Jesse) Vega, Jonie (Matthew) Lawson, Brandon Buehring, Kimberly (Adam) Seoudy, and great grandchildren, Randi Morgan, Kelsey and Kristen Hale, Justine, Jennifer and Jason Vega, Kyle Lawson and Tyler and Libby Seoudy and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the wonderful and caring caregivers Sylvia Soto, Belinda Espinoza, Elisa Soto and Mary Sanchez. Visitation will be Friday, May 19 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Dobie Funeral Home in Mathis. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 20 at 10:00 a.m. at First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Orange Grove. Interment to follow in Sons of Herman Cemetery.
