Jesus (Jessie) G. Herrera, age 70 passed away December 12, 2016. He was born to Eliseo M. and Maria G. Herrera on December 27, 1945 in Dinero, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Eva H. Moreno. He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Petra (Gonzalez) Herrera of Mathis; a daughter, Patricia Ann (Herrera) Crezo of Mathis; a son, Eliseo G. Herrera of Pearland, Texas and a grandson, Nicholas Augustin Crezo of Mathis. Four sisters: Elda Silva, Estephana (Ruben) DeLeon, Sylvia (Ruben) Serna and Emma (Rudy) Ruiz all of Mathis. Also many nieces and nephews. Mr. Herrera was a barber over 45 years, beginning his career at the Chasefield Naval Air Station in Beeville, Texas during the 1970's. He began his own barbershop, Jessie's House of Hair in the 1980's till the present time. Mr. Herrera had a love for music. He played the accordian for several Spanish Bands during the 70's and 80's. In the 90's to present he was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Spanish Choir of Mathis. He enjoyed watching western shows with his wife. He loved the New York Yankees. He also was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mathis. A rosary will be recited 7 p.m. December 16, 2016 at Dobie Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 10 a.m. December 17, 2016 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with interment to follow in Cenizo Hill Cemetery. The family would like to thank Fr.
