Ismael G. Viafranco

Ismael Viafranco passed away December 11, 2016. He was born February 5, 1945 in Berclair, Texas to Teodoso and Genoveva VillaFranco. Mr. Viafranco was Salutatorian of the 1963 graduating class at Skidmore-Tynan High School. He served in the Army as a Military Policeman and retired at NAS as a federal firefighter. He was preceded in death by his mother and a brother, Daniel Viafranco. Survivors are; his wife, Evangelina Viafranco ; daughter, Lisa Barrera ; son, Robert Viafranco, all of Mathis. A sister, Diana Deleon of Oregon and two brothers; Ricardo Deleon of Ft. Worth and Juan Deleon of Morgantown, West Virginia. Six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. A rosary will be recited 7 p.m. December 14, 2016 at Dobie Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m. December 15, 2016 at Sacred Heart Church. Interment with military honors will follow in Descanso Eterno II Cemetery . Pallbearers will be Leroy Barrera Jr., Daniel Barrera, Christopher Viafranco, Eric Viafranco, Fernando Asevedo and Marques Lara. Honorary pallbearers will be John Viafranco, Abram Lara, Lucas Viafranco and Aedan Barrera.
