Agapito Alaniz Sr.

Agapito Contreras Alaniz, Sr., age 72, died Feb. 20, 2016. He was born Aug. 18, 1943 in Jim Wells County to Nicolas and Dominga Alaniz. He was preceded in death by daughter Thelma Vera, parents and brothers. He is survived by his wife Elida Alaniz, daughter Nora Lee Paez, two sons Agapito Alaniz, Jr. of Alice and Juan Martin Alaniz of Sandia, step son Thomas Garza of Houston, sisters Cristela Solano of Orange Grove, Beatrice Sifuentes, Maria Valdez and Rogelia Alaniz all of Dallas, two brothers Santiago Alaniz of Orange Grove and Armando Alaniz of Houston and 4 grandchildren. A prayer service will be at 7 p.m. Feb. 24 at Dobie Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Feb. 25 at The Grove Baptist Church in Orange Grove. Burial will follow in Pro-Union Cemetery in Orange Grove.
