Simon M. Huerta

Simon M. Huerta, age 68, died May 1, 2015. He was born Feb. 18, 1947 in Mathis to Juan and Adelphine Huerta. He was preceded in death by son, Michael Huerta, parents, four brothers Juan, Rosalio, Martin and Domingo Huerta and one sister, Maria Moreno. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Juanita A. Huerta of Skidmore, Texas, five daughters, Hilda H. Cardosa of San Marcos, Texas, Martha Huerta of Minnesota, Josephine H. Mendez of Skidmore, Texas, Sandy H. (Richard) Rodriguez of Kenedy, Texas and Crystal Huerta of Mathis, one son Henry A. Huerta of Skidmore, Texas, 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. May 4 at Dobie Funeral Home Chapel. Mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. May 5 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial followed in Evergreen Cemetery in Skidmore, Texas.
